A virus is unlikely. These spots are probably a fungus, and the plant itself looks like it is growing strongly. Many plants can develop spots such as these, and they may be fungal. But the question I often pose to myself is "Do I have to treat" Just like you are considering. Often, I prefer to wait until I can determine if the problem is consistent or spreading. A new growth that is as strong or stronger than the old one, or new leaves that are absent the problem, often indicate to me that the problem is self-limiting and requires no treatment. If the spots continue to appear, it is time to worry about systemic fungal infection. This can be a huge problem, not just for the plant in question but for othersin your collection. Quarantine and treatment with systemic fungicides is warranted. I don't like neem oil for fungal problems, mostly because I feel it doesn't work! I have more success with fungicides. Epidendrums seem to do well with Copper Count-N.
