Default Can this orchid be saved?

I purchased a white Phalanopsis at Home Depot several years ago. It grew quite large with several sets of leaves with aerial roots in between the leaves. This Spring I noticed the leaves in the center of the stem turning yellow (leaves on top and bottom were fine). After examining the base of the leaves, I noticed what I think is black mold (may have been caused by my over misting the aerial roots). I tried dusting the area with cinnamon.

Does anyone know how I can save this plant? It has been producing beautiful spikes of flowers and has lots of healthy roots.

Spray with hydrogen peroxide rather than watering it for a few days. Don't get cinnamon down in the medium where you want roots to grow.
Looks like the base has a few good leaves and roots left below the damage. You may get a new plant starting at the base that will take a year or more to grow to blooming size.

Thank you so much for your advice. I would be very sad to lose this plant and I'm hopeful that it will produce a new growth.
