growing indoors - LED grow lights????

Has anyone tried the new LED grow lights instead of, or in addition to metal halide or other standard types of indoor orchid lighting? I've read the info on using LEDs for orchid growing on their web sites I but have not read about anyone using LEDs on any of the orchid sites. Does anyone have any thoughts or experiences with LED grow lighting? I would love to lower my electric bill this year but these LED grow lights would be an expensive experiment if they don't work!!!
