Dendrobium aduncum
This small flowered Dendrobium has long thin canes that produce, under my conditions, several inflorescences at random places along the cane during the blooming season. The long canes which can stick everywhich way make this plant look untidy. Also, since they lose their leaves after the first year, it looks on first sight as if most of the plant is either dead or in bad condition. This is normal as the flowers are produced from past year leafless canes. I find the flowers cute and the plant very easy to care for. It grows well for me with weekly fertilization during the growing season, water whenever it rains and a dry rest in the local dry season when it may not get water for several weeks in a row. It appreciates an open media and airy conditions at the roots, it is growing at the moment in a plastic net pot, in medium bark.
