Insect Damage?

Greetings:
Attached pic is of a cattleya bloom that has been damaged by something (an insect?). The plant bloomed while outdoors during this past summer, and only one of the flowers on the plant had this damage. Has anyone had similar damage to a bloom and, if so, to what can it be attributed?
